I’d give it 5 stars but the park definitely has some issues.
First off…$20 to park?? Never been to a state park, anywhere, where you pay that much to park!
With that being said I think at one time this park was on point. Today I feel the only part of the park that is really cared about is the “attractions” part of the park, the parts where you pay more money to see and do such as the sky ride to the top of the mountain or the mini theme park with its train ride and high priced, terrible quality food, and teen employees that could care less about your experience.
For the Nature Lovers going to the park for the outdoor features like hiking, biking,running, boating, fishing, and just being out in nature this park is beautiful but the areas we would be spending time in are lacking such as bathrooms in those areas of the park (most of the ones I saw were quite run down) or trails that could be improved upon. It seems that any money spent is thrown at the places they will make the most money.
Most state parks have a visitor center or ranger station where you can get info or stay up to date on what is open, closed, etc. Here you are on your own to figure it out. And again the only place to really ask any questions is at the attractions area and the teenage workers there, when not on their phones, have no clue about what is going on in the rest of the park.
Nature lovers you will still have a good time with all this park has to offer from the hike to the top of the mountain, to the Cherokee Trail that meanders through and around the whole park, to the beautiful kayaking in the lakes, and the campground (which was great). Just be aware that it’s not like your typical state park in a lot of ways.
The other positive that I noticed is there seems to be a trash can every 100ft (and yet people still manage to throw trash), there are lights everywhere at night, which is great for running and biking when the park is open to midnight, and there are even emergency call boxes scattered throughout the park in the event you may need one.By SeanHiggins thegoodlifeinc (8 months ago)Our first time coming by to see Stone Mountain. $20 Vehicle Entry, was well worth the drive, literally around the entire mountain. Beautiful landscape, everywhere you look. We arrived very close to dark and were thrilled to find out that they close at midnight! The Lift to the top and Gift Shop were certainly closed by the time we arrived, but we were able to navigate a well-lit sidewalk, to get a bit closer to the carving. We only did the hiking and loved how much there was to walk, we wished though they allowed dogs but they sadly don’t. They kept the trail clean and wonderfully labeled so you knew where you were at.The songbird nature trail is a cute trail for younger kids who can’t do as much hiking. There are also playgrounds for kids which looked well kept.
There is camping for tents, yurts, and trailers. Tons of benches to have picnics at.
Great size golf course though don’t know cost or how long it stays open

It was our first time visiting the park and have to say that they had excellent exhibition of pumpkin decor and lights for the night show. My daughter really had a great time at the park. She really enjoyed the Pumpkin decor and the laser show at the night. The train ride was good but they could have done something to make it exciting. The views from top of the stone mountain were breathtaking and we were able to enjoy the sunset. Had a blast for fright fest this Saturday. Paid for tickets on the app and got a discount. Paid extra for the haunted houses but did not get to see them because the lines were too long. Surprisingly the lines moved semi fast. We stayed from 2-10pm. Spent $160 something for two adults. There were haunted houses, a concert, several shows and monsters walking around taking pictures with families.
They went all out with the decor and costumes. I wish both funnel cake stands were open because the lines can get crazy but October is a great time to go. The weather was perfect. I usually go during the summer so I’ll most definitely be back. I go every couple of years. My mom was pregnant with me working for Six Flags so I’m excited to see them progress with new rides and renovations.
By t paris (5 months ago)Great place for a family. Such a nice variety of thrill and family rides. Being from Charlotte, with Carowinds, this park has something that is very important… TREES!!! The shade was amazing. I loved the mix of water rides (flume, monster mansion, rafting) with unique coasters (dive coaster, hybrid, etc). Wish we lived a bit closer. Purchased a Summer Pass for the family on our road-trip and visited in late June. Very reasonable prices. With the Summer Pass, we can now hit up the park again on the return leg of our trip.
To our surprise the lines were not too long at all – some even walk-on.
The park is nicely spread out on some hilly terrain (so be prepared for some slopes to navigate as you walk) that the crowds were never gathering in one section.
Park was clean and the employees were nice.
I personally liked that some ride attendant gave time limits for you to stash your stuff (if needed) and be in your seat. It made to lines much more efficient.
Many places that you can purchase drinks also kindly gave out cups of ice water at no charge, to help keep you hydrated.By Kevin Malko (9 months ago)I live near the park and it’s incredible. I’m back and forth often. However, I’m not a roller coaster person but there’s something for everyone. No objections from me. All the staff members I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. We had an absolutely amazing time when we visited last month, if this is on your itinerary at least budget 4 hours to fully enjoy all the exhibits, activities, and shows the aquarium has to offer. Definitely highly recommend coming as close as you can to opening so you can enjoy the mostly empty aquarium. The staff are all so informative and love to chat. When we come back we are looking forward to a behind the scenes tour.
Will be coming back! I’m so impressed with the size of this aquarium, it was very easy to walk through, all sections set up easy to navigate. The dolphin show was great. The whale sharks were so impressive. I saw some people doing the shark dive, it looked like so much fun. Plenty of seating in the different exhibits, we sat and watched the fish and the sharks for quite a while. The gift shop had a lot of items to pick from.

I think its a two story building and there are lots lounge chairs, tables&chairs,bathrooms too. … Huge space to walk and wheelchair friendly.

The only thing is par is the food. It’s just okay but they have a cup for unlimited refill. To hydrate while walking around the Aquariums.
The price is on the expensive side but totally worth it. …

Beautiful place to visit. I liked the tunnel where people walk and you can see all the fish, sharks, whales and other creatures swimming next to and above you, it’s amazing!!! But if you really want to enjoy the visit to this aquarium, you must buy tickets to see the different shows they offer. Without seeing the shows, the visit won’t be worthy. They always take a picture of you right before the entrance so be ready with a nice outfit so you will look good on the photo that will become one of your best memories!!! Highly recommended!!
It’s a great aquarium but some exhibits were empty and I didn’t get to experience the ‘extras’ 3D and dolphin shows specifically. They do have cool pop-in holes where you can take pictures and it looks like your in there with the animals. The location is great! It’s across the street from Olympic Park and walking distance to several other must see attractions. There is food available inside and they take a pic of you entering and you can buy it if you’d like. Great for the kids and couples!!!
